"Don't shoot me, I'm not Brazilian!" on T.shirts

The title is what's being printed on shirts and sold all over London now. Everyone is at risk. Every colored person for that matter. A Brazilian from South America was shot 8 times! for what? for nothing. I appreciate that the British policemen are keeping an eye everywhere but to make such a mistake is simply SAD. It just breaks my heart to pieces.

New Jersey, USA

I couldn't quite understand why NJ is referred to as Garden State but I think I kind of figured it out. The whole state looks like a garden from a distance. I drove to NJ and I found myself surrounded by tall trees and bushes. Pretty but there's nothing to do round here.

Is it just one of those days?

I wake up this morning with a lump in my throatI find my vocal chords coarse and dryMy stomach has this weird twinge of acheNot the usual aches that one has from eating bad food nor is it PMS cramps nor is it the feeling of an empty stomachIt's another feeling, a feeling of loss and mental hollowness

Family Mysteries

Just found out from a family member that my Teta had some of her work published (mainly plays) and it was found at the library in Pentagon, Washington D.C.That's just too cool. My grandma's dream ever since she was a child was to be an author.

She is a great writer and has diaries since the 30's about her life to date. May god bless her always, I love you Teta!

The land of the Mormons "UTAH - Red State"

Yep, that's where I'm at now. I'm at Salt Lake City which appears to be a very conservative state (which it is - very pro-republican). Also, the majority of the people here (the Utahns) are Mormons.

I didn't know much about Mormonism until I befriended someone here in Utah who told me all about them.In a nutshell, Mormons are very reserved and conservative. Strong Mormons believe they must be polygamists (there are 10's of thousands of them who are polygamists), they don't drink coffee or any caffeinated drinks and they believe that the Bible is God's revelation to the Jews and the East, while the Book of Mormon is His revelation to the Americans and the West.

I have not seen a single christian symbol round here in Utah. I've only seen temples for the mormons. In a nutshell, Mormonism is a pseudo-Christian cult. I've met a number of Mormons through a friend (well, they are raised as Mormons) and it appears the newer generation don't quite follow or agree with it but just live with it.

Dry & Hot Arizona, USA

Independence Day.. and here I am driving through Arizona today to return to Salt Lake City.

It felt like the hottest place on earth, so dry, so isolated, so like hell with nothing but a board sign welcoming you to it.I know one thing, I'd never consider living in this state unless I want to go to hell.

Even having your air conditioner on high for hours felt like a hot fan on low when I was in the car.

Excalibur - Las Vegas

Yes, this is Excalibur on Tropicana Avenue exit in Las Vegas. It's the hotel I stayed at. It felt so surreal looking at the hotel; as if it were a toy or a big palace made of plastic Lego.Y

ay, I stayed at Lego Land; well, they call it Excalibur. It's typically only $40/night (isn't that dirt cheap?) but because I went there for the July 4th weekend, it was 3 times the prices, nevertheless, it was very much worth it.

Divine Intervention

Banned by Hollywood

A Fantastic movie, a worthy inspection, revelatory yet bizarre.

The lead actor never really speaks and the fantasy sequence at the end is hilarious!

In a nutshell, it's the Other Side of the situation (Palestinian/Israeli conflict). The movie paints a picture of the conflict in a basic way by escaping the brutal realism of those accounts.

Everyone should watch this movie. I love it and watched it 3 times.

JFK Airport in NYC

Ahead of me is Dunkin Donuts, behind me is Famiglia Pizzeria, diagonally behind me is Chinese Bistro and next to it is a fancy Desert Deli with all kind of cheesecakes, fruit tarts, custards and cakes you could dream of.

I’m sitting in the center of all this, the center of all the gates. All I see are people eating like they’ve been starving to death. This new thing, “people watching” thing is quite amusing. I’ve been watching, observing, analyzing all kinds of people, all age groups and colors.

Young African American boys dressed the ghetto style, girls under 15 close to being anorexic talking about g-strings and fashion fads, old ladies looking for a chair to sit on and just doze off, young kids restless, a girl wanting her pink frosted donut that is sold out at Dunkin Donuts, a lady wanting a lemonade coolata that they no longer make and people like myself obsessing to connect to the internet (wireless hotspot) for free!

Passengers mad because their flight has been delayed – looks like mine will be too. I got lucky with a lady who kindly smiled when I asked her if I can take the seat by her table, she smiled “sure” – the power of kindness spreads positively all around.

Oh boy, people of all kinds can only be found here in NYC… the classy look, the sophisticated look, the hippy look, the ghetto look, the eccentric look and oh a few hoochie mommas here and there, foreigners from just about every country you could think of including Oman ! yay!

That’s JFK for you.
